Glassworks
A workshop to understand the processes of glass molding and blowing. Skilled artisans were called from the city of Firozabad, which has the largest glass industry in India. In order to have a language and connect with the products, I chose Physalis alkekengi, a popular ornamental plant as inspiration. It is also known as the Chinese lantern.
Further, concepts were developed that could be produced by the artisans within the workshop set-up. The products were completed with lighting fixtures and other accessories in wood and metal.
