Nokia S40 "Full touch" - 2012

In my role as UX specialist for NOKIA I was responsible for connectivity features for mobile phones running Series 40 OS.

The work included redesigning the UX of connectivity features for the first Nokia S40 Full Touch phones introduced in 2012 Q3 with the Nokia Asha 305 as well as new features like USB-on-the-Go, simplified Bluetooth pairing, Dual-SIM and many more.

Part of redesigning for "Full Touch" was planning and execution user research in India - key market for Nokia at the time - and extensive effort into enabling a fluid, effortless internet experience in the spirit of a truly mobile offering and resulted in a fierce reduction of elements to achieve delightful simplification and intuitive smartness.

Background:
NOKIA Series 40 was introduced in 1999 with NOKIA 7110 and full touch version was introduced with NOKIA Asha family in 2012. Sales volume from NOKIA S40 devices passed 1.5 BILLION in 2012 and was a crucial part of NOKIA "Internet for the Next Billion" strategy.

Connectivity toggles were added to the interactive status zone to enable easy on/off switching
