Acrylic on 16x20 canvas
July 2015

This acrylic painting utilizes an analogous color scheme to represent the calmness and serenity of sleep. This candid portrait is captured with foreshortening, and focuses on detailing the folds of the fabrics with shadows and highlights. I really enjoyed this piece, since I took a lot of freedom with it and it was really interesting to work with this style. The most difficult part of this piece was getting the facial features right- which usually is the hardest part. Aside from that, I really enjoyed creating this painting and experiementing with a technique I had never used before.
