In 2015, we pitched Regal Cinemas on a new approach to social. Our goal was to leverage the visual nature of platforms like Instagram and Tumblr, and to give Regal a clear POV that would help them stand out in a crowded movie marketplace.

To do this, we created an identity we felt fit perfectly with both the brand and its fans. Overnight, Regal Cinemas became...

On Instagram, we created a number of series to build out this "Movie Fan" POV, including:

On Tumblr, we took the same approach, adding original illustrations, animations and GIFs.

THE RESULTS

We're at an all-time high with engagement on Instagram, YouTube, Vine, Snapchat and Tumblr. Typical likes and comments on Instagram went from 100-200 in 2014 to anywhere from 800 to 4,000 on any given post, and we have 20,000 new subscribers on YouTube.

...where movie fans can be hard to please, it looking like they're giving Regal's new POV two thumbs up, four stars, a standing O, a hundo on the Tomatometer...hard to tell how kids these days judge anything, but you'll find it.
