Cooking with Jazz is an illustration for a student brief that required the design of a CD and slip cover to act as a promotional giveaway with the Herald Sun. 

The concept required the combination of jazz music and food. To capture this, a trombone is shown playing a tune however instead of music notes, cutlery is flowing from the instrument. 

A vector style has been used for the illustration, utilising simple shapes and block colours to form a minimalistic style of design. 

A limited colour range has been used to compliment the minimal illustration; incorporating black and white with shades of warm and cool greys works to create a soothing colour palette. 

The choice of a brush script typeface compliments the genres overtone and has been styled to grow in size like an increasing tempo.
