Ayant passé quelques mois à Tokyo entre 2014 et 2015, j'ai réalisé la série mode "Onna-Bugeisha", inspirée des célèbres femmes combattantes du Japon médiéval. J'ai pour ce faire mélangé des vêtements hautes-couture avec des accessoires de Samouraï traditionnels (Kabuto, Masques de guerre, gantelets, Katanas). 

"Dans le Japon médiéval, une onna-bugeisha (女武芸者?) est une femme combattante issue de la haute société. De nombreuses épouses, veuves, filles, et rebelles répondaient à l'appel du devoir en s'engageant dans la bataille, généralement aux côtés de samouraïs. Elles étaient membres de la classe bushi et étaient formées aux armes dans le but de protéger leur maison, leur famille, et leur honneur en temps de guerre."

After several monthes in Tokyo between 2014 and 2015, I did the fashion serie "Onna-Bugeisha", inspired by the famous Fighting Womens from the medieval Japan, mixing Haute-Couture and traditionnal japanese Samouraï accessories. I would like to submit this serie for your next Issue.

"An onna-bugeisha (女武芸者?) was a type of female warrior belonging to the Japanese nobility. Many wives, widows, daughters, and rebels answered the call of duty by engaging in battle, commonly alongside samurai men. They were members of the bushi (samurai) class in feudal Japan and were trained in the use of weapons to protect their household, family, and honour in times of war."
