Conference posters are some of the most rewarding briefs I've worked on. The researchers' approach and knowledge educate me further and give me a chance to tell researchers about the importance of graphic design. They allow for creative freedom, but not at the expense of clarity.

I have usually encouraged the use of strong graphics and vibrant colours, as the poster will always have to compete with a sea of other posters in a large hall. The trick is - as ever - to make an information-weary audience stop for a look, and convince them to read.
