The GPS features on this app allow members to locate and get directions to available cars and parking spots. The cars nearby feature gives members an overview of the cars condition and availability so they can book it for immediate use or make a reservation for later.

By replacing the current key card with a mobile key a new member can sign up for the service on their phones and immediately begin to use the services without having to wait for a card to be mailed to them.

The city has made it so that the Car2Go service can be used as an extension to the limited public transit system. These outdoor executions emphasizes this benefit as well as promote awareness of the Car2Go infrastructure in place throughout the city in the form of free Car2Go parking. The CQR codes allow the viewer to immediatly sign up for the service through the mobile landing page and begin using it.

Free meter day event – for one whole day Car2Go pays the city of Austin to be able to seal up meters in high traffic areas around the city. The meters will be sealed up with a sticker saying ‘parking’s on us’ followed by the website address as well as the CQR code, promoting people to learn more about how to get free parking all the time as a Car2Go member.
