Oblik volana natjecateljskog bolida je strogo definiran sigurnosnim pravilima tako da je dizajn baziran na ergonomiji, prilagođen vozacima i funkcija je u prvom planu.
Koncept je vođen iskustvom vozaca, scenarijem u kojem se na izlasku iz krivina mijenja stupanj prijenosa i ruka se oslanja samo na palac dok se pritom dešavaju vibracije i velike sile u rukama. Oblikovanje se svodi samo na nužne elemente. Prioritet je na maloj težini, a ergonomska drška je oblikovana kao nastavak mjenjaca tako da je u svakom trenutku jedan prst na mjenjacu kako bi vozac imao bržu reakciju i dobar oslonac.

The shape of the steering wheel of a competitive car is strictly defined with safety rules so design is based on ergonomics, drivers experience and function.

The concept is based on experience of driver, a scenario in which in exit of the curve pilot changes gear and his hand relies only on the thumb while pushing occurring vibrations and major powers in the hands. Shaping is reduced to the necessary elements. The priority is the low weight and the ergonomic handle is designed as a continuation of gear shifter so that at any moment one finger is on the gearbox. That gives driver a better response and good support.
