ADJUSTMENT PANEL:
Before:
After:
This photo was taken at Gillette Stadium after the Ed Sheeran concert. I saturated and brightened the photo. By doing this, the photo became more vibrant. I think the edit on the photo captures the overall mood of the moment. It was taken right after the concert ended, and the mood of the entire moment was both dazed and happy.
HIGHLIGHT AND SHADOW:
Before:
After:
The photo was taken in New Hampshire on the 4th of July. The shadow level was increased and the highlights were increased. By doing this, the contrast in the photo was increased, and the lines became crisper.
ADJUSTMENT LAYER:
Before:
After:
This photo was taken in New Hampshire, at my summer camp. I created a layer that just contained my friend and I, and then I adjusted the layer so it was brighter. By doing this, the picture gained a vintage feel, and created an overall summary appeal.
BLENDING MODES:
Before:
After:
The two photos I took for this image were taken at the Xfinity Center during the Train concert. I blended both photos together and adjusted the opacity to create the clearest image. By blending the two photos, I was able to capture two elements of that night in one picture: the stage and the dancing.
CLONE STAMP:
Before:
After:
This photo was taken at elm bank, right before a cross country race. By using the clone stamp, I was able to ‘erase’ the sweatshirt and water bottle that are on the ground from the picture. By doing this, I removed all distractions from the picture, so the viewer can just focus on the huddle.
IMAGE MODE:
Before:
After:
This picture was taken at Gillette Stadium during the Ed Sheeran concert. I used the gray scale in image mode to make the photo black and white. By doing this, I matched the mood of the scene when the picture was taken: a mood of excitement.
SELECTION TOOLS:
Before:
After:
The picture I used for the waterfall was taken by the waterfall in south Natick. The picture I used for the sunset was taken in New Hampshire. I selected the sky in the waterfall picture and cut it out. Then I placed the sunset picture under the image. The new image now had the waterfall and the sunset in it.
HISTORY BRUSH TOOL:
Before:
After:
This picture was taken in New Hampshire. I first made the image black and white. Then, using the history brush tool, I made my hands and my phone colored. The image created shows the sunset in color, but only on my phone. The picture was made more interesting because all the colors are still in the picture, but they are just contained to my phone.
PAINTING WITH QUICK MASK MODE:
Before:
After:
This picture was taken during a cross country meet at elm bank. By using the quick mask mode, I was able to separate the background and the foreground. Once the two layers were separated, I edited the background by increasing the contrast. The image now looks more visually appealing and vibrant.
RED EYE TOOL:
Before:
After:
This picture was taken at Gillette Stadium at the Ed Sheeran concert. I used the red eye tool to edit the red eyes out of the pictures. The resulting image now has faces that look more realistic, and the red eyes aren’t distracting.
