The Parade - Photography
The starting point forthis work was the theme of parade, which I was to investigate. By taking twocommon elements found in the traditional parade, repetition and uniform, Istarted to look for things which look the same. I wanted the parade to represent something which issmall, such as a minority group, that although fragile in great numbers it hasthe power to make a difference.
To investigate the themeof parade, I also started exploring the idea of ritual. This was done byproducing plaster eggs every chance I get, carrying the latex mould and plasterwith me everywhere. I was also recording this process into a diary.
The result was over 600plaster eggs. The intention was to stop a parade, that of the people who passfrom the corridor, with something as fragile and vulnerable as an egg.
