Cairobserver is the start of a conversation about Cairo’s architecture and buildings, urban fabric and city life.
مشاهد القاهرة هو بداية حوار حول معمار القاهرة ومبانيها وأيضا حول نسيجها العمرانى والحياة بها
Cairobserver is dedicated to presenting visitors and residents with lucid analysis, commentary and information about Cairo’s architecture and urbanism. A major aim of the project is to confront stereotypical views of Cairo by enriching the ways in which professionals, students and residents understand the policies that shape the city. The site also explores Cairo’s history and sites, its urban and architectural merits and the city’s many challenges. Additionally, Cairobserver aims to connect readers with the activism and grassroots action that engage with Cairo’s urban reality.
Cairobserver welcomes contributors from all disciplines and interests. The site is an on-line space, a platform, for architects, journalists, historians, artists, and residents to find and share content that offers ways for understanding, representing, and improving the city.
القاهرة هى من أعظم مدن العالم بتاريخها الثرى وتقاليدها المعاصرة المليئة بالتشويق، الأمر الذى يجعلها مكانا مثاليا للبحث العمرانى والمعمارى. يحاول مشاهد القاهرة أن يقدم إلى زوار القاهرة والمقيمين بها تحليلات وتعليقات ومعلومات تلقى الضوء على معمار القاهرة والنمو العمرانى بها. كما يهدف “مشاهد القاهرة” إلى تحدى الأفكار النمطية بشأن تلك المدينة من خلال إثراء الطرق التى يفسر من خلالها المتخصصون والدارسون والمقيمون تلك السياسات التى تؤثر على شكل المدينة. يقوم الموقع الاكترونى لمشاهد القاهرة أيضا باستكشاف تاريخ القاهرة ومواقعها والمزايا العمرانية والمعمارية بها واستعراض الكثير من التحديات التى تواجه تلك المدينة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يحاول مشاهد القاهرة تقديم حلقة وصل بين القراء وبين المبادرات التى يقوم بها السكان والناشطين خلال تعاملهم مع حقائق القاهرة العمرانية
.يرحب مشاهد القاهرة بالمساهمات. وهو مساحة الكترونية ومنصة مفتوحة للمعماريين والصحفيين والمؤرخين
