An Eye for an Eye: Part 2 Ceramics.

This collection of Ceramics work follows on from An Eye for an Eye part 1, it features 10 hand built Ceramic sculptures in varying states of construction, each piece was hand coiled and burnished before bisque firing some had texture added to the surface also.

This Ceramic collection uses imagery and texture to express the narrative of an acid attack (explained in detail in An Eye for an Eye part 1). The imagery tells the story from part 1 in graphic detail, the texture communicates the look and feel of burnt skin and lastly the form is the simplistic figure of Ameneh Bahrami (the victim) taken from illustrations featured in part 1.

The last two pieces are considered to be the final pieces, they are double spouted vessels one spout is closed the other is open they represent the masculine (closed) and the feminine (open) aspects of this story/ the victim and the attacker, the story is told in a continuing flow around the pieces. Both pieces have been decorated with Copper and Cobalt oxides and bisque fired.
