Challenge

The challenge was to create a platform to display the car fair online. Autoferia Banco Popular is a big event in Santo Domingo, as it draws thousands of people. All the cars reprentatives dealers participate in this fair. Beautiful showrooms, animations, are held in order to get sales. All types of cars, luxury, SUVS, trucks, and beyond, are sold. Being this a one of a kind event, a unique site had to be created. I was recruited by Fernando Rodriguez, of Mente Elastica (a communications agency), to be a part of this very ambitious project, and to work as Art Director.

Strategic approach

The idea was to build a powerful platform. A website in wich people would feel as if they where at the fair physically. Search engines, filters, to easy locate the products was a main part of the focus. Beautiful display of the products, smooth interaction, was the other part, with carefully selected photos and videos. Numerous brain stormings and meetings where held by Mente Elastica with it's team to respond in every aspect to the need of the client, the very prestigious bank Banco Popular. Every page and interaction was carefully sketched, analyzed, before designed, an excellent working habit of Fernando. We new exactly where we where going. A team of ten was formed, with a specialist in each field. A data base had to be created, with the car inventory of all the official dealers participating. Recollecting that information was a big part of the work. We wanted an exhaustive display of information, regarding the cars and the dealers.
Solution

After two months of very intensive and exiting work we launched the site. The result exeeded the clients expectations. A beautifully, user interface designed site. Search buttons and filters strategically situated. Easy and user friendly navigation. Each dealer has its proper page, with it's google map location, and social media links. Each car view is rich with pictures and videos. The lightBox is one of the powers of the site. It shows a complete information about the car, features, price, photos, video, downloadable PDF, and social media interaction. The site brought over 10000 visitors, with an average visit duration of 12 minutes. Wich is excellent.
