An Investigation into the Tangible Nature of Paper
& its Place Within Design

The brief for this project was to create a set of three A2 posters for the D&AD Ministry of Sound Brief. The posters advertise the Saturday Sessions, Ministry
of Sounds premier club night over the months of September, October & November.

I used a study into paper and its place within graphic design to inform my outcomes, giving me an opportunity to explore and learn about paper sculpture. The shapes are created by taking an iTunes visualiser that reacts to music from three of the Ministry of Sound Annuals {2009, 2010 & 2011}. I then took the shapes it created to make 3D posters based upon the visualisations, which were then photographed to create the posters.

To document my design process and research I made a set of two hand made books, one documenting the process, from initial research to the final outcome and the other documenting all of the experiments throughout the brief.

This project won a Best of Year award from D&AD.
