Kung Fu tea ceremony is a Chinese cultural activity involving the ritualized preparation and presentation of tea. The term literally means "making tea with effort" and this act is a way to maximize the taste of a tea selection. A tray or a plate is to hold water spills. The concept of The Flow tea tray is to combine the sensation of making tea with traditional Chinese landscape ink wash painting, which has a strong reference to Taoist (Daoist) imagery and motifs. The lid was modelling in Rhinoceros 3D using a height field map edited by Photoshop, and machined in CNC. The box was carefully handcrafted in splined miter joint and a solid maple edging.
