Nel 2013, ci è stato affidato il compito di creare un restyling di un album musicale di un artista o di una band a nostro piacimento.
La mia scelta è ricaduta sulla band indie-folk americana Bon Iver, le cui melodie sono profonde ed elaborate. I pezzi dell'album sono intitolati con nomi di città, sono luoghi reali ("Lisbon, OH", "Calgary") e luoghi falsi ("Hinnom, TX", "Minnesota, WI") ma non c'è una differenza significativa tra il reale e l'immaginario.
"Ogni canzone del nuovo album rapprensenta un posto, le persone hanno una relazione con un posto dove non sono mai state. Puoi sognare un luogo o fantasticarci. Quindi Perth è come un tempo e un luogo, o una città e uno Stato, o uno stato d'animo o qualcos'altro. Io penso di crescere e vivere nello stesso luogo, esplorare musica dallo stesso posto per tutta la mia vita. Tutta la mia famiglia e i miei amici si sono trasferiti, ma io no, non so se sarò felice altrove e allora sto quì a fantasticare su luoghi mai visti e a ricordare quelli visti." afferma Justin Vernon, cantante del gruppo.
Per questi motivi ho deciso di realizzare la copertina dell'album raffigurando la città di Perth tramite la tecnica dell'acquerello (elaborato successivamente in Adobe Photoshop), enfatizzando così l'idea del sogno e dell' irreale.

In 2013, we have been tasked to create an album art restyling of an artist or band of our own choice.
I chose the american indie-folk band Bon Iver, which melodies are deep and elaborated. The songs are titled with city names, they are real places ("Lisbon, OH", "Calgary") and fictional places ("Hinnom, TX", "Minnesota, WI") but there's no important difference between real and unreal.
"Each song of the new album represents a place, people have a relationship with a place where they have never been. You can dream of a place or daydreaming. So, Perth is like a time and a place, or a city and a State, or a state of mind or something else. I think about growing up and living in the same place, exploring music from the same place for all my life. All my family and my friends moved, but not me, I'm not sure if I'll be happy elsewhere and so I'm staying here daydreaming about places never seen and remembering about those seen." the singer of the band, Justin Vernon, says.
For this reason, I decided to create the album cover representing the city of Perth through the watercolor tecnique (later elaborated with Adobe Photoshop), emphasising this way the idea of the dream and imaginary.
