Paper Levi 501's

We were given an iconic object from time to research, create and place in its time. I was given a pair of Levi 501 jeans, that were to be made entirely from paper and were to be wearable in the final project. It took me over 40 hours to construct the jeans, hand sew them, and include every fine detail that is featured in the classic jeans.
The leather logo situated on the back of the jeans.
The tag, featuring the history of the jeans, the time and place the were created and the materials used.

The iconic Levi Strauss & Co button.
The care instuctions inside the jeans.
The buttons and the front flap.
The back pockets, made from a paper Levi's bag ans the back of the jeans. Every piece is hand stiched and accurate to a pair of Levi 501's.
I situated my Levi 501's in 1980's Britain in the skinhead culture, where they became an iconic piece of uniform. The above pictures feature myself wearing my paper Levi 501's.
