Tra il 14 Aprile ed il 1° Maggio 2015, presso l'Archivio Sacchi a Sesto San Giovanni, si è tenuta la mostra Design Resistente. L'esposizione, curata da Magutdesign, era organizzata in due sezioni. La prima, grazie a una ricca selezione di documenti e contributi, forniva il contesto per inquadrare il periodo storico e il contributo del mondo del progetto alla lotta per la Liberazione del nostro Paese. La seconda, con l’intento di attualizzare il tema, chiamava i designer ad interpretare con un progetto il significato della parola 'libertà'.
Design Resistente intendeva risollevare il tema, da sempre dibattuto, dell’interconnessione e del ruolo dell’artista e del progettista nella società: professionista che si limita ad esercitare acriticamente il proprio mestiere o personaggio in grado di mettere le sue competenze al servizio della società e della politica, immaginando nuovi modi di progettare?
Personalmente, oltre ad aver contribuito alla sezione storica con un intervento sulla stampa clandestina, ho curato il design del catalogo, che rispetta la divisione concettuale tra la parte storica e le opere in mostra ed offre una visione dell'allestimento finale.
Between April 14th and May 1st of 2015, at Archivio Sacchi in Sesto San Giovanni, it was held the exhibition Design Resistente. The exhibition, curated by Magutdesign, was organized into two sections. The first, thanks to a rich selection of documents and contributions, provided the context to frame the historical period and the contribution of the design world to the struggle for the liberation of our country. The second, with the intent to update the theme, called the designer to interpret with a project the meaning of the word 'freedom'.
Design Resistente intended raise the issue, always debated, of the interconnection and the role of the artist and designer in society: professional who just uncritically asserts in its own trade or character able to put its expertise at the service of society and political, imagining new ways to design?
Personally, I contributed to the historical section with a speech on the clandestine press, and I also curated the design of the catalog, which respects the conceptual division between the historical part and the works on display and offers a vision of the final exhibition.
