Uyii was launched in October 2011 because we believe that we can design and hand-make our own bags in Singapore. Today, we have grown into a team of passionate designers and crafters that specialize in fabric. We work with other creatives to explore the possibilities of fabric, challenge the design/manufacturing binary, and integrate technology and textiles.
The Uyii #OpenOpenStudio is a chance for us to be as —Open— as possible. Some of you may have bought our bags before, some of you worked with us before, but you may not know why we roll a certain way, how we do things or what we actually really do. We are inviting our partners, customers, students, and friends into our studio to hear about what we do, listen to our concerns, and gain an insight into creative manufacturing processes and values.
