The picture looked a little faded and needed some more contrast so I started with some basic adjustments. I changed the white balance to daylight, decreased the exposure just a bit, and increased the contrast. I used the adjustment brush to bring out the closer objects just a little bit more. Next I worked on giving it an Instagram-like filter. I didn’t want to use Hudson or Sierra because it had started out looking faded and blue toned so I decided Brannan would give it a better, grittier look. I started by cranking up the contrast some more. Then I went to the levels adjustment and moved the middle slider just a bit to the right to darken the shadows. Next I added a new fill layer with a warm beige color and reduced the opacity to the layer. I then adjusted the curves of the photo to fade it slightly. I opened the photo again in Camera Raw to add a vignette through the effects menu. Finally I added a border as the final touch to the Instagram look.
