The Christian Science Monitor
U.S. “Shock and Awe” Warmap
In the days preceding Operation Enduring Freedom, this map was created for the Christian Science Monitor, showing the geography of Iraq and the Middle East while highlighting the invasion force. Integrated with a close-up of the Persian Gulf, a chart breaks down the specific military divisions by type, numbers of deploymentand nationality. At the same time, the origins, purpose and destinations of each division are showcased against the primary map.

The base map was taken from stock art, edited and recolored in Adobe Photoshop, then imported into Adobe Illustrator and placed with additional vector-based artwork and information.

The Chicago Tribune

SPSS
This redesign and development of SPSS’s product icon system gives their library of products a uniformity that was previously lacking. In addition to using a consistent color scheme, illustration perspective and scale, SPSS’s “greater than” mark is integrated into each icon. This element ties the library into their corporate identity. Applications of this library include print and web catalogs, websites, as well as SPSS products.
Clearpoint Metrics
As a start-up, ClearPoint Metrics needed a way to explain its products function to their target audience (IT and corporate executives). The series of diagrams at left shows the tools the technology company provides its customers and how they function (the monitoring and management of security performance and functions).

The diagrams make use of an existing corporate color palette and typographic standards and are inspired by the icon system within the company’s actual software. The three-dimensional illustration approach adds depth and visual substance to explain the products’ functions. They are used in both interactive and print pieces, and are the basis for a visual vocabulary representing the company’s concepts and thinking.
