Pixathlon is a worldwide competition, which has as a main purpose to enhance the creativity of people. The participants have 12 hours to take photos and have the opportunity to win prizes. The goal is to experience there city from a different perspective, learn about the city’s history, socialize and have fun.
Pixathlon already took place in Austria, Athens, Alps and Slovenia and last year was held in Nicosia.
Like every competition before the logo remains the same. The only difference is the design inside the camera. In every competition a design is selected that represents the city where the competition is held. In this case Famagusta Gate was selected, one of Nicosia’s landmarks.
For the visual the camera was selected because, through the camera the participants were going to “experience Nicosia like never before”.
At the end of the competition participants photos where exhibited on the walls of Melina Merkouri Hall, next to Famagusta Gate. The same night the winners of the competition were announced at the award ceremony.
