Beginning as a data visualisation brief, The Appreciation Series began with the well known pop icon, Bill Murray. The original infograph focused mainly on his movie roles, with some basic info and
kooky facts.
When the response I received from the project was positive, I decided to think of ways I could take the project further and had an idea of creating a tangible product from one of the portraits. Settling on the idea to create a hard enamel pin using the popular character Steve Zissou from The Life Aquatic, I ordered 100 pins from a pin manufacturer in the US and created a collated little gift
pack called The Appreciation Series: Bill Murray, Gold Class Edition. This pack included the hard enamel pin, an A5 infographic poster and a pack of 10 portrait stickers.
The project then developed even further and I created the same concept with different pop icons including Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, Drew Barrymore and Johnny Depp.
