Here's a list view in a mobile application.
If you select at least one item, the relevant category (with a notification icon) will appear in the top menu bar. This reminder functionality helps you to move on after you finished selecting items from a list. In other words: it helps you to maintain your interaction flow.
Here are some screenshots that describes the process I follow. Attention on visual details, depth, colors and on-grid ratios led my thinking.
