Goal: to create a new and exciting product and packaging design to hit the shelves of our supermarkets.
Outcome: appealing shelf appearance, thorough market research, would work well as gifting product, novel idea, nice shape. Although, questions on cross-contamination, how easy is it to open and how efficiently a manufacturing process could create the package.
Moving Forward: conducting more first hand research and product feedback to ensure I get a different perspective, and that I really do think about all possibilities and downsides which could be an issue.
Personal Rating: 7.5/10, thoroughly enjoyable project; the whole process was fast paced and tested my versatility and ability to solve problems in a lot of different situations throughout a variety of different processes. Being away from the pixels and digital nature of things was a breath of fresh air, and a valued opportunity when given the brief to find packaging solutions, but then coming back to digital terms for the final design etc brought me back to my comfort zone. There were some clear pointers that I should have considered looking back, but overall I am satisfied with how the project went. Obviously the finished product could have been finished to a higher standard, but University facilities are limited, so I had to work with what I'm available to. Ultimately, packaging is an industry which I had never even considered in the creative industry, but it's now something I will contemplate delving into in future projects to come.
..If you can spare a second to thumbs up the project, leave a comment, and share the love, it would be most appreciated! I hope you enjoyed the browse! Take care.
