The Game of Architecture
3rd Year Architecture, University of Brighton

This project is an investigation into kinetic architecture.  It begins with the design of a kinematic device that I created to fit a small table that I had found in the studio.  The device allows two people to play a game of chess by operating the moving crane that picks up and moves the pieces.  This excerise would act as inspiration for a design project later in the year.
The site for the design project was Broadway Market in Hackney, London.  My project took the inspiration of the positioning an repositioning of elements from the chess device to make an adaptable chess venue in a bookstore on the street.
