Myth Monster Hunter
My First Real Crack at App Development.
My First Real Crack at App Development.
This brief was about all Social Responsibility, brought about through Digital Technology and Augmented Living. At first I was fixated with the idea of doing something to promote Amatuer & Youth Football in small towns using both QR codes and a basic Football Management game for Smartphones, but decided in the end that this could be misconcieved and may bring an unwanted element to some football matches that didn't have the means to police them.
From there it was a bit of a hop, skip and a massive leap to the next idea which came about when talking to a friend about how I felt games like Pokemon were missing out on a market in terms of SmartPhone gamers. From that spark came the concept of catching and collecting Mythical and Historical Monsters, which I slotted in to the social responsibility side of things by ensuring that the best of the games Monsters were to be caught in educational buildings such as Museums, and they could only be caught after answering a question based on the information they can learn with ease at the Museum.
Other areas in which the App would have been socially responsible would have been encouraging them to excercise in walking to locate and catch the monsters as well as giving pre-teenage and young teenage kids something to focus on when the temptations of underage drinking rears its head.
Below are the presentation boards for the project as well as the [very] rough video detailing the way the game would work on the iPhone.
