This was the first channel Ident created for a new channel 'Star Movies Select'.
Star Movies Select was launched with the Tagline '365 days, 365 stories'.

Concept building: A concept was conceptualised around the effect of stories on us and how stories transform us.
Brainstormed a few words to create into visuals: 
Sea, winds, glistening, eyes, sunshine, bright, soothing, tree, relax.
I created a mood board to convey the idea of 'Ethereal' visuals. 
Process: Initial rough sketches were made with ink spills on textured paper.
Ink could best reproduce the softness and dream-like quality of the ethereal visual concept.
I created the line animations in Adobe Animate. Then layered it in After Effects using the ink textures.
Style Frames were created to share the flow of the story in its look and feel.
Storyboarding:  Rough storyboard was created to sketch out quick ideas which were based in 
morphing and slow music.

Learnings:
The Channel identity is something that needs to convey the brand principles of the channel within 30 seconds. It should reflect the essence of the platform and appeal to the target audience. But since the Ident would be played several times between shows and films, it needs to retain it's spark and not become redundant too soon. The viewing value needs to last for an year at least.
