The Corner
The Corner is a insert magazine that would be issued within the magazine Hole and Corner. The Corner focuses purely on crafts from different regions around the UK. This specific issue that I have created, is a South West edition, featuring three articles; Conker Shoes, Ensign Boats and Solidwool. The main article, Ensign Boats features an interview, and photography I have taken myself.
I named the magazine 'The Corner' as it is a spin off magazine of Hole and Corner, and as it is regional, it explores different crafts from the corners of the UK. The magazine itself is just slightly smaller than Hole and Corner, making it an easy insert. The photography is all black and white, which works really well with the pink typography throughout the magazine. For each of the articles, there is a title page which allows the articles to be separated, and to allow the magazine to flow better. The title pages each represent the style of the craft in the articles; leather for Conker Shoes, who hand make all their shoes from locally sourced leather, aluminium for Ensign Boats, who hand craft boats from aluminium sheets, and wool for Solidwool, who create furniture from sheep wool.
