600 People is a performance in progress by Alexander Kelly © Third Angel.After performing at Sheffield Hallam we were set a wide brief of creating anything in relation to the performance. I chose to focus on the advertising of the performance and then expanded into the ticket design.
We don’t know if there is intelligent life other than ours, which is why I focused the imagery on things from Earth and in our solar system and re-purposed them to look extra-terrestrial and new. In the design there are a range of constellations, the image of a African tribal man is a reference to the 600 People of which are all descended from in Africa. Images off the Pioneer plaque and the Voyager golden record, and fur and scales off animals on Earth. The shapes represent plants, spaceships and anything else that could be floating around out there. I have given the background a slightly worn distressed effect as solar wind will cause slight damage to the plaque.
