The Story behind the caricatures:
Caricatures are not normally something I do, or am used to doing. I started doing these as a way to try to make some money. Of course I feel like I try everything. I've got a Fiverr that generates me very little income, a redbubble, that does the same, a Society6. Seems like I really am just trying all venues out there, but Why? Because I'm trying to live that dream! To be able to provide for my family, with ART. Now more than ever, I've been grasping back to my passion and my skillset. Now, I do have a day job, I am a bookseller, and a Barista, My fiance is also a Barista. I'm in college for Graphic Design @ FullSail University & There's been a series of drops over the years, but I'm a fighter.
These are not your typical caricature. These are still my illustrations. Big Headed Portraits. Because, that's just kind of what they are.
Earlier this year I was in a car accident, that was enough of a financial burden. We had to replace our car, our insurance went up. The car was totalled. We try to keep our heads up and move forward. I was injured. We still have not received anything to pay those bills, but then in early May, I found out I was pregnant. We were ecstatic. After a couple of months of anticipation, I found out the second week of July that I was losing my baby. This took a long time to pass, we tried naturally and medically, before I ultimatley still had to get a d&c. While the loss has been devistating, I will always remember to pause ; and move on. Which is what I have been working on, always keep moving forward.
I lost a lot of time at work, so I began doing some caricatures to try to make back some of the funds. These (aside from the doctor, that was for entertainment) are the products of the kind people who have participated so far. It is the start of september & the medical bills have started rolling around. If you are interested in participating; I am still accepting orders. email me @oceanicinks for details.
