Beijing Underground
They are the new, brand-new, faces in Beijing’s underground scene.
Thekind of Beijing far away from Olympic Games or financial districts.
The kind ofBeijing made of colored-hair and tattooed-body guys, studs, leather jackets andclothes so popular in U.K.’s “rejection”subculture during the 70s, then spreadout everywhere in Europe and U.S.
During weekends, some of these young people use to meet up in Wudaokoustudents’ district, one of the benchmark for Beijing’s punk movement. Hereamong Concerts and Yanjing beer they like to show and exhibit themselves.
Theirlook and grimaces tell us about rebellion, about that past cultural revolution, that today can't be nothing more than a flat taunt.
Today it is hard to find any message: today there is only an image. Mediahave often told us about Chinese post 80s generation. This work gives an“image” on the post 90s one.
