Conceptualizing a New Google

This project involved conceptualizing a new type of web browser. For these reasons I’m calling it a new type of Google. Pictured top is a glimpse of the concept wall that I prepared. These large ‘concept’ or data walls are integral to my modus operandi. Having a physical space for all of your ideas is comforting. We’ve all seen projects become foggy, and making the concepts tangible puts the mind at ease and allows for further organization and omission of ideas. Conceptualize until the cows come home. If you are not doing this extensive and rigorous conceptualization process, you will have severely limited the outcome of your product. This stage is crucial. New project challenges may require new solutions so in reality this stage never really dies. It ensures that one doesn’t jump right into the ‘design part’ of a project. Mind mapping, matrix mapping, and asking big philosophical questions is crucial to understand the landscape of the product or service you’re working on. Know your people, know your competitors, and know your value before stepping into any design or redesign.
