Hosu is a pair of robots designed for Electrolux Design Lab competition, that are responsible for cleaning up the environment purifying it inside a house. The concept is set on the idea of “acquired personification” which gives them male and female identity respectively, hoping to generate certain feelings in the user, thus showing that it has a particular factor different to other products found in the market.
They are designed for people who are allergic to their pets, having to keep distance and optimal cleaning conditions to avoid health problems, which difficult the interaction between the pet and the owner.
The male robot has heavy functions like extracting particles in the environment, such as pet hair or dust; therefore keeping a clean environment.
It also has an electrostatically charged brush for the user to clean manually different kinds of textile surfaces.
The Female robot is responsible for a more delicate work; although his partner robot has extracted heavy components, the remaining small particles are not easy to capture, so the female robot is equipped with special filters to purify the air, thus working together for the health and welfare of the household.
