Manic depression, also known as Bipolar Disorder, is a mental disorder where someone experiences periods of mania and depression. During a manic episode one may feel elevated and as if they can take on the world. Whilst during a depression episode one may have suicidal thoughts or possibly do themselves harm. Both episodes are intense and should not be confused with normal happiness or a sad mood.
I wished to spread awareness for this disorder since the amount of people with this disorder is gradually increasing. It is very hard to diagnose and in addition people don't often seek the help they need. Through a series of posters that visualised the feelings one with manic depression might experience, I wish to convey what it is to have this disorder.
The difference between the manic and depressive posters are the use of material and colour.
