VIXO - FPV Goggle

A FPV (first person view) goggles focused on addressing the desires 
of an ever growing market for unmanned autonomous vehicles.
THE ENTHUSIASTS
 
The commercial UAV scene is a fairly new market, however enthusiasts have differentiating views of the expectations of needs and desires. Addressing this market required filtering the needs from desires as well as steering the evolution of design and functional expectations.
WEARABLES
Head accessories have always been a challenging aspect, unlike sunglasses, the bulkiness of a product worn, will often be exaggerated over the smooth contours of the head. We chose instead to separate product from facial features by opting for a faceted styling, that expresses an extended enhancement rather than a blending of features.
STRUCTURE
The main structure of Vixo, is a metalized plastic frame, chosen for its weight. This frame allows for modular faces that can be improved, modified or user customized without altering the base structure. Ensuring a single model can last several rounds of revamps saves time and cost in the supply chain.
INTERNALS
We have opted for a single cowl that relieves skin stress and tension from individual socket cowlings. The single cowl design, also provides usable surfaces for indicators within the peripheral vision, migrating secondary information from the screen itself.
FIT & FINISH
The surfaces are finished with soft touch, while the band is made of silicone with memory metal inserts to ensure firm yet customizable fit. An adjustable elastic band provides the user with the final securing fit. The cowl is made of silicone for comfort and provides a longer lifespan from the elements.
OWNERSHIP
Vixo separates itself from other FPV goggles on the market, in style, usage and expectations. It will be a benchmark for manufacturers, to compare, rethink and invest in a market that is devoted to advancement.
