On Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, I was given opportunity to design the commander's coin for excellence for the Squdron Commander of the 18th Security Forces Squadron. 

 

In the United States military community, the commander's coin is an age old tradition that is used to recognize members who exhibit excellent work ethic, a service before self attitude, and integrity in a servicemember's actions. In this coin design, I integrated both the security forces crest and motto along with a Japanese style design to represent the squadron's location in Okinawa, Japan.
