ALFRED - your personal butler
Alfred is a multipurpose bow tie designed for the english tea brand "PG Tips", in order to give new life to used tea bags.
Alfred is a multipurpose bow tie designed for the english tea brand "PG Tips", in order to give new life to used tea bags.
Every year, 50.000 tea bags are thrown in the trash without someone able to take advantage of their properties. Tea can in fact be used for domestic hygiene and personal beauty.
Thanks to Alfred, the customer has just to insert the used tea bags in the compartments and, simply by bending or turning one of the triangles, he/she can use Alfred in three ways:
1. to PERFUME (the closet, the dishwasher, etc.);
2. to POLISH the silverware;
3. to ALLEVIATE the tired eyes.
Its triangular shape is aligned with the sachet made by PG tips.

This is a group project developed for D&AD student awards 2014. The project includes Alfred, its packaging and its instruction manual.

The name and the logo are inspired by the main function of Alfred: to help people keep their house clean and scented. Thanks to its many transformations, it acts like a personal butler in every tea drinker's house! "Alfred" is the perfect name for this portable and customizable butler...symbolized by the typical butler's bow tie.
