PATANG: Basant was a residue of pre-partition festivities in Punjab and was celebrated at the onset of Spring every year. The kite flying festival is now almost forgotten in present day Punjab, Pakistan. This animation captures one of the many micro narratives that led to the eventual demise of the popular festival. A kite maker struggles to raise his daughter after a tragedy strikes that leaves him hopeless.
