This new version of my home page was something that I had been wanting to work on for a long time, so I squeezed out some time in my day to create it. It's a beautiful layout by my standards.

I wanted to create a design that was both fresh and professional. It also had to state that I was a graphic and web designer as quickly and as easily as possible.

As I was a typography fanboy, it wasn't very hard to get starting on that special header. This header changes depending on the time of day: a sunrise in the morning, a noon scene in the day, a sunset in the late afternoon, and a night scene at night.
The page starts off with typographic headers, then moves on to a text area where an introduction with a large font proclaims a few things.

A small stick-out to the right tells the user that the header changes. This serves in part as a notification but also a reason for the user to come back.

A Twitter blurb is below, styled with a cute birdie. Using the standard code, the Twitter blurb is loaded in only after the rest of the content and scripts are loaded.

The bottom part of the page is taken up by the slider, which is styled elegantly and artfully. A jQuery plugin called ScrollTo is used instead of the Coda slider for system performance benefits.
Keep in mind that although the video above shows the sliding with a slight delay after the click, the actual speed is instantaneous after the user clicks (or at least within .5 seconds).

Each slide displays information in a comfortable manner that doesn't crowd the user. The first two slides are styled similarly, and the last two show information without any links.

This web design uses the 960px 12-column grid system for a clean and simple interface that users will like and be comfortable using. Enjoy!
