At 89 years old, a mother of 9 children, and a doting grandmother/ great-grandmother to many of her grandchildren/ great-grandchildren, Ah Ma lives alone in a small studio apartment with her Indonesian helper.
The faceless visiting family members, and the CCTV footage at the end of the series is a reflection of the paradox that many of the rapidly greying population in Singapore face today.
