Deutsches Kulturzentrum Iasi

Deutsche Kulturzentrum Iasi celebrates and educates the public on Germany’s culture and language. This is done through German language lessons, concerts, film viewings and other cultural events.

Our vision for this visual identity was to focus on Germany's linguistic heritage, and on the communication oportunities it creates.

Typeface

A quintessential German typeface, Berthold's Akzidenz-Grotesk was chosen. Two members of the family were ultimatelly used in the creation of the visual identity and stationary.
Color

German culture frowns upon the idea of nationalism, or national pride, so the decision was made to avoid Germany's national colors, and rather focus on a neutral color, that underlines the Deutsches Kulturzentrum concept of inclusion.
Graphic Elements

Two visual elements were selected. A scharfes S, a letter unique to the German alphabet, represents the language and its unique characteristics. A speech bubble, in which various, relevant messages are written, shows openess and the value that Deutsches Kulturzentrum Iasi puts on communication.
Logo

Usable both in color and monochorme, aswell as easily resizable.
Stationary
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?

A poster that interacts with the viewer, starting a conversation and delivering a message about Deutsches Kulturzentrum Iasi.
Hallo! Ich heiße...

As with everything else, the business card should celebrate Deutsches Kulturzentrum Iasi's values. And what better way to do that than to introduce itself to you in a friendly, open way.
Thanks for viewing.
