BUJAK rocking chair

Bujak tapicerowany gives a new face to the traditional rocking chair. The project was created in order to answer the questions:

How is the relation between the user and the object created?
Can emotions be designed?
How to make the user get attachted to the product so he takes good care of it,
making its lifespan as long as possible.

While giving a fresh form to the traditional rocking chair, the warmth and coziness with which this object is associated is being kept. The rounded, organic shapes of the new armchair are friendly and evoke positive emotions. The chair is meant to serve for relaxation and its slight swinging movement has a calming effect. The relation between the user and the product is established, as the chair gives the feeling of intimacy through its closed, enfolding form. Its woolen polstry feels soft and warm, while the armchair is comfortable and wide, it supports both back and head and enables the user to take up many different positions.

The chair's construction is based on the technology of polyurethane foam casting with bent pipe construction. Four parts are casted separately and screwed together.
The bottom part is made from stainless steel and steel flats and screwed to the whole construction.
The armchair is upholstered, different variations are possible.
