Bangkok Shutdown

Scenes from everyday life during the Bangkok anti-government protests, under the slogan "Shutdown Bangkok", between November 2013 and May 2014.
The organizational degree and the commercialization of these protests, which took place all over the city of Bangkok and at several other spots inside the country for several months and which had been cracked down via a coup d'état by the Thai military, had been enormous. Protesters and the interested public had access to free food, drinks, free massages and even free hair cuts. There were dozens of different types of protest accessories available for sale and its styles changed from week to week. Most of the people slept in transparent tents, which only gave protection from mosquitoes, but lacked to protect the minimum of the protesters' privacy.
