WAYFINDING AND INTERPRETIVE PLANNING

Client name
Lunenburg Board of Trade

Brief / Summary of Work
In 2014, Form:Media was invited to design a wayfinding system for the historic town of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site along Nova Scotia’s scenic south shore.

Form:Media took special pride and satisfaction in this project, knowing we were contributing to the enhancement of this world renowned heritage site.

The challenge with this project was finding a solution that respected the historic fabric of a 250-year old town. The eventual solution was to create a contrasting, yet quiet, contemporary signage system.

By all accounts, the final system fits seamlessly into the community. Located at key corners and junctions throughout the town, the signs share historical information and directions to the area’s main attractions.
