Midi Gurdy - the Sound of Technics

Midi Gurdy is an electronic (stringless) hurdy-gurdy with user interface and sound card. The musical instrument plays like a classic hurdy-gurdy with strings, keys and a crank, but does not have its own sound body. Inside the instrument there is a processor, a battery, numerous sensors and a sound card. While playing, the user can make various sound and playing settings via the display of the user interface. Midi Gurdy can also be connected to external devices such as notebook, tablet, or smart phone. A particularly practical aspect is the possibility of practicing with headphones ("silent function"), since the typical hurdy-gurdy sound is often perceived as very loud. The large number of connections for external equipment and headphones offer many new musical options for hurdy-gurdy players.
