The Artists' Handbook Re-Design

This project's primary objective was to examine the typographic grid as an invaluable aid for the organisation and expression of varied information across multiple pages. We were to take an existing book and re-design 48 pages of it, focusing on creating a cohesive grid and the functional systematic application of information. The brief stated specific requirements such as the typeface to be used, that only black plus one spot colour could be used, that it had to consist of a range of information- text, images, line art, charts, etc.

I wanted to challenge myself by creating a vertical grid, and simplifying my design as much as possible- not including anything that was not necessary to the functionality of the design.
