In the emptiness…
He stands silently, bare of noise, as a constant traveler emerging out of emptiness that is space.
As for the relation between space and mass, it is reflected through an expressionist approach which is in a state of close contact with this emptiness and harmonized in it so all emerges as a single fabric. In the paintings, emptiness creates its own existence and it controls masses, spaces and bordering voids,
hence its existence is one and the same with the existence of the living being.
This concept goes, for me, beyond finding appropriate solutions to fill the corners of a painting and becomes an obsession because to me everything could be resolved to space and bordering space.
To me, the balance of emptiness is a balance that does not exist materialistically but philosophically.
In this collection of works the idea of the relation between human and animalistic instincts is contained within emptiness; and the reference is to primary instincts and the birth out of emptiness.
Those human and animalistic characters are an essential part of emptiness and remain captives of the nowhere, and so the spaces stay bare of any materialistic significance.
