"Brda" is a common term in Poland for A-Frame Houses used as a vacation houses. Nowadays Brdas are neglected and forgotten, even though they are one of the most popular type of vacation houses. In this project I wanted to create a new version of Brda, by giving it a new value and appearance.
NOWA BRDA / NEW BRDA is a modular system of vacation house. Thanks to modules we are able to adjust the size of our house to the size of our parcel. Besides the triangular base module, there is a trapezoidal module, which enlarges the interior and brightens a house. One module is 1 meter wide. Moreover, we are able to use a 6 meters wide module or 8 meters wide module. All elements are prefabricated, what simplifies and speed up construction.
In this project I created three houses:
- small for 2+1 people
- medium for 2+2 people
- large for 2+3 people
In every house same materials are used. Nevertheless, each house looks different and has its own character. Interiors are dominated in wooden tone. White and black elements make interior more graphic. Besides, very important task was to make those houses more functional and spacious.
